For now, this only works on systems with mpirun (not srun, etc.)

For now, this only works on systems with
mpirun(notsrun, etc.). Sincempichgets included in the conda environment viancoandesmf, the MPI version is likely only useful on non-HPC systems where conda's mpich works well. On HPC machines, only the system MPI will work, and this can't interface well with conda environments.
