Show the player minimal UI at the start (board and shop only)
Tailor the items in the shop to walk the player through buying a piece, and then upgrading it next turn
Take them through a few turns, with tooltips popping up as they play
Reveal the UI turn by turn
After a turn or two on full UI, leave them to it
