Hi!
I really appreciate what you've done, especially in terms of unlocking missing hauntings. All fans of the game have been waiting for this for years!

But let me disagree with your conclusion about "as there is not really a reason to both with the old port these days".

For the Retail version, much more various fixes, hacks, improvements and cheat code mechanisms have been written over all the years. Especially valuable is the Widescreen-fix from ThirteenAG, which have much more improvements for playing under widescreens (as well as correcting FPS and black borders in cut scenes, or blurring in pauses). In fact, the GOG version is the same retail, but having only its own fixes to support compatibility and based on EU version instead of US (if I'm not mixed them up).

In addition, your plugin uses the same "Ultimate ASI Loader", which is also supported by the retail version. Also, there are no problems with the ghost code in the Retail - I personally saw how a man on YouTube forced them to work by manipulating the hex-editor. I'm pretty sure that the difference between GOG and Retail is only in memory addresses in executable, so there should be no problems with adding support for it to the plugin.

I also concur with @Psycho-A's suggestion. Additionally, the retail copy is easier to get working completely (including controller support) on Linux via WINE/Proton, so your haunting mod is the last piece for the pin-ultimate SH4 experience. We're crossing our fingers that you'll consider it, @HunterStanton 👍

This is planned for the next version as using signatures to find the proper patch addresses, instead of hardcoding like I do now, is the way forward. It should then work on the retail version. Will close this out when that is released
