My tv only supports secure websocket or wss, I tried just changing the url called in the source but that resulted in a unable to get local issuer certificate' error. I'm not sure about how this library is implemented but it would be really nice if you could support wss which i'm assuming all modern tvs use. This python library, https://github.com/supersaiyanmode/PyWebOSTV currently works and It supports wss from what I see. Maybe it's an easy fix on your part. It would be really nice to use this library with modern lg tvs.
