treemacs-remove-project-from-workspace sometimes doesn't work

Sometimes treemacs-remove-project-from-workspace doesn't work. I see following message.

treemacs-remove-project-from-workspace: Wrong type argument: arrayp, nil

Treemacs Version - [Treemacs] v3.1 (installed 2023.09.04) @ Emacs 30.0.50

Probably a follow-up from some previous action that left treemacs' innards in an incorrect state. Either way I'll need a stack trace to track this down.
