Culex tarsalis is a North American mosquito species known for being the principle vector of the West Nile virus along with other arboviruses. The purpose of this project is to examine local adaptation and range expansion in Culex mosquitoes.
Due to the recent epidemic of West Nile Virus in the Windy City, we've had the Department of Public Health set up a surveillance and control system.
