GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are #1587 ( Error when downloading files from android device via WEB), #421 (Can't download files via Chrome on Android devices.), #5537 ("shared by link" doesn't show folder or files shared via email.), #2575 (Downloading from share via Chrome for Android fails), and #8530 (Mobile View of shared links dont work on mobile phones.).
As I cannot reproduce the original issue anymore, I will close this ticket. If this is still happening please make sure to upgrade to the latest version. After that, feel free to reopen.

You can try downloading this test.txt:

Expected behaviour
File will be successfully downloaded to the mobile device.
Actual behaviour
The download won't start and gives the notification alert: "Download unsuccessful"
