We are now using Google Docs for the agenda & notes for the weekly all-hands meeting, so we need to update the script that creates the issue for each meeting.

I think we said we are using a single running doc for all meetings, in which case the link is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WHyIZhBo2eEgYXlZ5HLHg6a6ZWTH3tV848sWkYBJjJA/edit

Pros of using a google doc:

  • The link is the same every week
  • Updating the template is easier because it's right there in the document
  • observation: The UX of google docs seems to encourage more people to jump in and help make the notes better

Cons of using google doc:

  • the notes have to be converted to markdown when they get pasted into github
  • in order to edit you need a google account

Why are we using Google Docs for this? My understanding was that we're supposedly using Cryptpad, but using HackMD just because that's what the current sprint-helper was setup with. I've refactored sprint-helper to automatically create a Cryptpad, but hit the same issue as ws-star (bad server/service) so need to redeploy this too.

Cryptpad has become slower and slower to load. Sometimes it takes minutes to load. I've stopped using it for that reason.
