wetlands

I'd suggest making lines less than a pixel wide, 1.5 times longer and with opacity around 0.6-0.7.

The big problem is the wetland above the lake. Is this a tagging error?

Not, sure, it's this relation. Not actually the point of this issue :)

Tagging is fine.

I wanted to report it after I encountered http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.4318&mlon=22.5350#map=12/53.4318/22.5350

There are a number of overlapping wetland polygons in the area Ilya pointed out which create additional confusion like http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/141025807

As far as the pattern is concerned - this was originally only an example for a more fine grained pattern, not in any way tuned for use in the style, neither in color nor in arrangement. Feel free to play with the pattern - don't remember the exact parameters but a good starting point would be:

distance: 8.5, radius: 16, radius y: 6, dash symbol with scale 0.5
