Discussion: Model configuration preparation and runners for simulations

This issue is to discuss if and how we should approach the model preparation (by querying the database and using user input from the command line or configuration file) and runners for simulations.

General:

1. DPPS concept foresees a 'Computing Resource and Workload Management System', which will execute workflows provided by the subsystems
2. we want to have the possibility to run tests and development runs without using the Workload Management system.

The current implementation of runners for corsika and sim_telarray works well for case 2, but not with case 1.

Should we consider separating clearer the configuration preparation and the runners also for use case 2?

We might have this already, and I simply didn't manage to disentangle all the different boxes - this is what I am thinking of:

1. preparation of a configuration + software
2. running corsika or/and sim_telarray
3. running any analysis using again sim gamma-sim tools

This would separate the different steps clearer plus define interfaces between 1./3. and 2. A clear plus would that we could separate software installation of corsika and sim_telarray completely from gamma-sim tools.
