Describe the Bug

👋 thanks for Floccus, it’s a great initiative.

So 2-3 weeks ago I tried tab syncing and that led to wild behavior so I had to boot Brave —no-extensions (sic.) and disable the floccus extension.

However, since then I’ve removed the tab-sync profile and added a new bookmark sync profile on 3 devices: 2 MBP’s and 1 Android phone, the MBP’s are Brave and the phone Kiwi (which allows extensions, which is awesome).

All report “Not synchronized, yet” no matter how much I provoke the extension lol. I’ve disabled, reenabled, I’ve toggled “sync automatically”, I simply cannot get it to run/do anything on any device.

Expected Behavior

Use Case: floccus does an initial sync

  • I am a user
  • Who wants to sync his bookmarks across his MBP’s and Android phone
  • So that I can enjoy consistent bookmarking across devices

Proposed Solution

  • N/A just fix the bug :)

To Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. install floccus one by one on MBP’s (Brave) and then Kiwi (phone)
  2. configure them to sync to a file with the path bookmarks.xbel (I tried configuring a dir path but it always went red/error in the UI for some reason)
  3. wait 30 mins
  4. inspect floccus in each browser and all report

“GOOGLE-DRIVE
“Bookmarks
“Google Drive: bookmarks.xbel
“All good
“Not synchronized, yet

I.e. the service/extensions are doing no work

I don’t know where my floccus account is so didn’t provide log files - sorry!

Debug log provided

  • I have provided a debug log file

Hello 👋

Thank you for taking the time to open this issue with floccus. I know it's frustrating when software
causes problems. You have made the right choice to come here and open an issue to make sure your problem gets looked at
and if possible solved.
I'm Marcel and I created floccus and have been maintaining it ever since.
I currently work for Nextcloud which leaves me with less time for side projects like this one
than I used to have.
I still try to answer all issues and if possible fix all bugs here, but it sometimes takes a while until I get to it.
Until then, please be patient.
Note also that GitHub is a place where people meet to make software better together. Nobody here is under any obligation
to help you, solve your problems or deliver on any expectations or demands you may have, but if enough people come together we can
collaborate to make this software better. For everyone.
Thus, if you can, you could also have a look at other issues to see whether you can help other people with your knowledge
and experience. If you have coding experience it would also be awesome if you could step up to dive into the code and
try to fix the odd bug yourself. Everyone will be thankful for extra helping hands!
One last word: If you feel, at any point, like you need to vent, this is not the place for it; you can go to the forum,
to twitter or somewhere else. But this is a technical issue tracker, so please make sure to
focus on the tech and keep your opinions to yourself.

I look forward to working with you on this issue
Cheers 💙

This is likely due to faulty build of v5.1.2. You should try force-updating the extension to get the update.
