Hello,
after Catalina Beta 6 update my USB C ports doesn't work properly.
I use a Type-C to Ethernet adapter but after the update the connection is always absent.
Tried another adapter but the result is the same, then tried with an real MacBook Pro and the connection works.
The charge instead works correctly.

Thanks

UPDATE
The problem still persist on Catalina Beta 7

@matvada It is soon to fix things. It is always recommended in hackintosh to use stable versions. since the code on which the developers are based has not yet been published and in each beta version, any solution usually changes

@johnnync13 i know, my intent is to inform anyone who wants to update to Catalina what issues they may encounter. Fortunately the usb ports work well so it's possible to use the wifi dongle to connect.

yeah! In macOS El Capitan, Apple changed everything related to USB power. It is possible that there are changes in macOS Catalina as well. I will investigate

@Recreabox the problem still persist. It's not related directly to the ports (charger works properly), it occurs with ethernet adapters. Have you tried connecting an ethernet adapter? it works?

I'm using a Realtek RTL8153 based usbc-ethernet.
After updating, the device was detected, but under System Preferences > Network > device, connection status stayed at "Cable Unplugged" and hardware address was empty.

Got it to work by updating to v1.0.19 driver from:

Does this driver works after restart for you?
I've installed the same driver, but I need to reload kexts every login to get it working.

Can confirm updating to latest catalina beta solved the issue for me.

Well... I'm running 10.15.1 and still have to re-plug my adapter (OR just the ethernet cable) to make it work properly again.
It sends out data (according to tcpdump) but it doesn't always receive it back (spuriously).

Either that, or my whole ethernet stack is hanging and have to force reboot instead of replugging. (I guess that is related to sleep mode though)

It just happened again... replug and it worked again for like 21 seconds. Replug again, and it keeps working for who knows how long. Like wth.

I did get that disconnected error some time ago, but perhaps that was only in some beta version.

Oh. I'm not seeing any 10.15 driver on Realtek site? Well. there should be no need of course. I think I already tried that 10.14 one once and had little success.
I really hope they can sort out the bugs.

Edit: I started to see the same phenomena a bit on my Wi-Fi.

I just upgraded to Catalina today and am now seeing this issue. I tried updating to the same Realtek 1.0.19 driver, but I get no IP. When I try Realtek 1.0.20, I get no hardware address (as above). Ugh.
