Using Docker to view the application

This project is set up to use Docker Compose to run all components of the application without the need to set up your environment. To use the containers please install docker to your system. For Developers running MAC and Windows PC it is recommended that Docker Desktop be installed to ensure all dependencies are set up.

Once installed, clone this repo to your system on the command line with git clone git@github.com:JamDevCo/Ackee-Walk-Backend.git. Navigate to the directory and run the following command:

sudo docker compose up -d

The following components will be created:

  • The Backend Laravel container for the Ackee Walk server
  • A container hosting the MySQL database server
  • A container hosting an nginx server to serve the laravel backend application

To view the application from the browser go to http://localhost:8080
